TIME TO HAVE SOME FUN!

As the weeks pass, we continue to see the COVID-19 numbers declining and number of vaccinated people go up.  Although this is great news, many are still wondering what this means for our future as we continue to move past this pandemic.  Especially for vulnerable populations, you may be wondering what activities are safe to engage in.  As summer approaches, the latest information from the CDC says that it is now safe for fully vaccinated people to:

  • You can resume all prior social activities without wearing a mask or staying 6 feet apart, except where required by law or local businesses.
  • COVID-19 testing is no longer required for international travel unless your destination requires it however, it is recommended that you still take precautions to protect yourself.
  • Masks will still be worn on planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation in the United States.
  • Additionally, you still need to show proof of a negative COVID test or proof of recovery from COVID-19 before boarding an international flight inbound to the U.S.
  • COVID testing is still recommended 3-5 days following international travel, but self-quarantine is not necessary after returning to the United States.
  • If you’ve been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, it is not necessary to get tested or self-quarantine unless you have symptoms.
  • People with weakened immune systems may need to continue taking precautions to prevent COVID-19 because it is unknown how well the vaccine protects people with compromised immune systems.
  • How long COVID-19 vaccines can protect people is still uncertain. The efficacy of the vaccine against variants of the virus is still undetermined. Research is ongoing.
